What goes into the record, automatically
A paper batch record is written twice: once on the floor, once when someone types it up. Zelviq captures it once, at the moment the work happens.

Each work order is built from a specific recipe version with its components and expected yield, so the record shows which formulation actually ran.
Lot-level ingredient consumption
Every ingredient lot consumed is recorded against the work order, with quantities and units converted automatically from bulk purchase units to recipe units.
Actual against planned yield
Output is compared with the plan on every batch, so variance is attached to a lot, a line and a shift rather than appearing at month end.
Supervisor approval of exceptions
When consumption goes past your production policy limit, the work order cannot be completed until a supervisor or manager approves the exception with a recorded reason.
Quality holds before release
Material on hold cannot be consumed or shipped, and the release decision is recorded against the lot it applies to.
Finished lots linked to their inputs
The finished lot carries links to every input lot, so the batch record and the trace record are the same data rather than two systems to reconcile.
